I'm dying to tell someone, but I have no one to talk to in the real world, so I'm posting here (Work Story)
To be precise, it's about my department manager's wife.
They are an in-house couple, but in different departments.
Since they are in different departments, they rarely interact, and the couple almost never runs into each other at work.
One day, I saw the manager sighing,
so I asked him what was wrong.
He told me that his wife said something like this
to a female employee in her department:
"Ms. [Name], you need to hurry up and pick a decent, kind man to marry. Don't look too far; try looking within this company."
Apparently, the female employee reported it to the audit office for sexual harassment or something, and it's currently under investigation.
The manager feels it's unfair and is taking his wife's side.
I just thought, "Oh, I guess that happened," and moved on.
However, a few days ago, I had lunch with a junior from that department for the first time in years, and I heard something shocking.
We were catching up on life and work stories.
It started with her complaining about how kids these days are... lol
Then the topic of the manager's wife came up.
She said when a male colleague, his wife, and a female junior (a new hire) were having a meal together,
the junior took a bite of a chili pepper and said, "Mmm, this is delicious."
Then the wife said, "Is only that pepper delicious? Are other peppers not tasty? Are others even better? lol"
What the wife said wasn't about "getting married."
This was just the tip of the iceberg. lol During company dinners, if they drink,
it's common for them to link arms with male employees,
and they apparently exchange sexual jokes
as casually as eating a meal, just like men do. lol
Poor manager... T_T
I can't tell anyone in my department,
but I was so shocked and my mouth was itching to tell someone, so I'm writing this here. lol
