A movie that shattered my perception of windmills

‌When you think of the Netherlands, you think of windmills.
An exotic and beautiful image.
However, there was a movie that shattered that positive image of windmills all at once.
It was set in the countryside, with small windmills in the background.
One day, the male and female leads get into a huge fight,
and the woman, in a fit of agitation, suddenly runs toward a windmill.
She stretches out both arms and clings to the windmill blade.
Watching that scene, I wondered, "What on earth is she doing?"
But then, the windmill starts rotating clockwise.
The woman falls from the high part of the blade to the ground and dies. I couldn't believe a person could die like that;
Ever since seeing that scene, it's like a trauma(?); whenever I see a windmill, I still see that scene from the movie.
I saw it when I was very young, so I don't know the title, but I suspect it might be a movie from the late 1970s or 1980s(?).
