I believe the KBO's introduction of the extra-inning tiebreaker is a very wise decision

‌1. Extra innings are decided much faster
As someone who mainly watches MLB, most of you will know this, but
after the introduction of the tiebreaker (referred to as the "ghost runner" in the US),
extra innings usually end by the 10th inning, and even if they go long, they typically end around the 11th. Going to 12 innings or more
only happens about 1 or 2 games out of a 162-game season per team.
2. Draws will be eliminated
Not just in baseball,
one of the greatest advantages of American sports is the absence of draws.
Personally, the fundamental reason I dislike soccer is because of draws,
but if the tiebreaker is introduced, the concept of a draw becomes unnecessary.
Baseball is fundamentally a sport that originated in the US,
and in the MLB, since the era of modern baseball, the concept of a draw has not existed.
If the KBO introduces the tiebreaker but maintains draws?? I think that would be worse than not introducing it at all.
3. Extra innings become more exciting than expected
It is natural that things get more intense since draws are eliminated,
but the way strategies change depending on whether it is the top or bottom of the inning is even more fun.
For example, if the opponent fails to score in the top of the inning, they often bunt as soon as the bottom of the inning begins (also seen in MLB),
and if the top of the inning results in 2 or more runs, they naturally go for aggressive hitting. The fierce strategic battles based on the score difference are exciting.
4. There is no issue regarding pitchers' earned runs
In the case of the ghost runner, it is not included in the pitcher's earned runs anyway.
However, it is included in the batter's RBIs.
Of course, if the visiting team scores 1 run in the top of the 10th and the home team scores 1 run in the bottom of the 10th,
a BS will naturally be recorded for the visiting team's pitcher in the 10th.
5. The tiebreaker has become the new normal in international competitions
The same applies to games like the WBC or Olympic qualifiers.
To improve international competitiveness, it is very important for KBO baseball to gain experience with the tiebreaker as well.
+ I also hope that the "3-batter rule" for pitchers (regardless of inning changes)
+ and the "limit of 2 pickoff attempts per batter" (a balk is called if a pickoff attempt is made from the 3rd attempt onwards without catching the runner) are introduced.
