‌Claims have been made that a man, who identified himself as an SBS open recruitment comedian, caused a disturbance at a bar by verbally abusing the owner and throwing beer glasses. The owner has filed a police report, stating that the man and his companion failed to pay for their drinks.
According to JTBC's 'Incident Chief' on the 15th, around 11 PM on the 2nd, two male customers, identified as A and B, visited a whisky bar near Hongik University Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and ordered beer and whisky.
About 1 hour and 40 minutes later, a foreign man entered the bar and spoke with A's group. While shaking hands to conclude the conversation, B suddenly picked a fight, asking, "Why are you touching me?"
The owner and staff intervened, and the foreign customer subsequently left the establishment. Following this, A protested to the owner, essentially asking, "Why aren't you taking the Korean person's side and instead siding with the foreigner?"
The owner explained, "It's not like he touched him just to pick a fight," but A unleashed a barrage of verbal abuse, saying things like, "Why are you so rude?" and "I'm going to make you go bankrupt." He even shouted his name, claiming to be an "SBS open recruitment comedian." When A threw a beer glass on the floor and broke it, the owner finally called the police.
A claimed to the responding police officers, "I was assaulted by a female employee, and my shoulder was dislocated." Video footage released on the broadcast shows the employee making contact with A's arm while attempting to restrain him. The owner noted that the employee, who has a thin build weighing in the 40kg range, has even gone to the police station to write a formal statement.
Despite consuming four beers and one whisky, A's group did not pay for the drinks. They claimed the owner had cleared the bottles away, making it impossible to pay. The owner stated that the police advised him at the time to recover the costs through a lawsuit.
In response, A's side explained, "The foreign customers forced their way in even though there were no seats and pushed us in the side. We were angry because the owner acted rudely." Regarding the unpaid bill, they explained, "The owner cleared the glasses we were using and told us to leave. That is why we didn't pay."
The owner expressed disappointment, stating that A's group showed no remorse even after causing a disturbance. He filed a police complaint citing the breaking of the beer glass, business interference, and the two individuals' failure to pay for their consumption.
A police official stated, "We have taken over the case from the local precinct and are investigating," adding, "It is difficult to provide specific details regarding the case currently under investigation."
