I went to the prosecution office today, and it was absolute chaos.
I am currently working in the bond sector, and I visited the prosecution office regarding a case that arose due to an issue with a planner.
Anyway, the first problem was that the prosecution office hasn't been accepting any filings since 11:00 AM yesterday.
Regardless of judicial reform or whatever, it doesn't mean crime victims aren't being created right now.
So, when I asked whether this case was with the Prosecution Office or the Central Investigation Agency, no one seemed to know.
I went to the Central Prosecution Office first, but they told me to look it up and head to the High Prosecutors' Office.
I went to the High Prosecutors' Office (Regional Prosecution Office), but the KICS (Korea Information System of Criminal-justice Services) was down, so they couldn't even accept filings themselves; anyway,
there were many reporters there, and it looked extremely hectic.
The funny thing is, they said there is nothing they can do immediately, so they instructed everyone coming in (everyone) to leave their contact information on a registry so they could try something later.
When I asked if things would be back to normal by next Monday, they said they couldn't provide an answer at this time.
I mean, this is my company's business and I can come back next week, but what are they planning to do about cases with non-extendable deadlines (statutory deadlines) that expire today?
