Landmine explosion in the DMZ. Pierced through bulletproof shoes

To prevent accidents where a leg is lost even if a landmine is stepped on,
special bulletproof shoes are issued
to soldiers serving in the DMZ..
Even while wearing them, a leg was lost;
the reason is
due to North Korean special landmines that contain
7 times more dynamite than regular landmines..
Wooden box mines are intentionally made of wood
to make metal detection difficult..
Considering that the accident area was not a danger zone
but a relatively safe area frequently used by the ROK military,
it is suspected that North Korea intentionally buried
landmines on paths likely to be used by the ROK military before retreating..
