Speculation on why Lee Ki-hyuk said in an interview that he wouldn't join the military

This is something I saw on Park Moon-sung's YouTube channel before.
Lee Ki-hyuk applied to Gimcheon Sangmu in the first half of this year.
However, due to an administrative error—whether by the Association or Gimcheon Sangmu—a player with the same name was selected instead.
The player's side filed an objection regarding this, but the decision was not overturned.
While this ultimately resulted in a better situation for Lee Ki-hyuk personally, he must have gone through a lot of mental distress at the time.
