My father's memorial service

I have a daughter who is 40 days old.
Since this Sunday is my father's memorial service,
I am planning to go down to my parents' house in Busan alone to attend the service,<
and then come back up to Seoul.
(The round trip will take about 9 hours,
and I would be asking my mother-in-law to help out for about 9 hours.)
I haven't brought this up to my wife yet,
but am I being too selfish to leave my wife, who just gave birth, alone with such a young baby?
