Lol, there's this bittersweet story about someone inputting classified info into a Chinese AI, only to realize it was actually generating answers through Claude, meaning military secrets were leaked to Claude...
Since Chinese companies can't develop properly and instead rely on distilling or cheating, US companies are starting to talk about an AI arms race in terms of speed.
If China were actually catching up closely, they wouldn't be saying things like that, but it turns out it's nothing special... China needs to step it up. But they are lacking computing power and facing difficulties in many ways.
