Wouldn't athletes in team sports be at a disadvantage if military service benefits were based on a point system?

‌For example, let's assume that military service benefits are granted only after winning two Asian Games gold medals...
In sports like swimming, track and field, table tennis, or badminton, a single athlete can compete in multiple events.
This means they could win two or more gold medals in a single competition..
However, in baseball or soccer, you can only participate once....
They would have to wait two years for the Olympics or another four years for the next Asian Games just to win one more gold medal.
