It has been confirmed that the Lee Jae-myung administration has decided to resume the 'Inter-Korean Donghae Line Road Restoration Project.' This project was initially promoted following inter-Korean summits during the Moon Jae-in administration but was suspended after about a year, with estimated budget requirements reaching trillions of won. The Korea Expressway Corporation, the entity in charge of the project, stated that it is following the policy direction of the Lee Jae-myung administration. However, conservative opposition parties point out that it is inappropriate for a public enterprise to proceed with a project costing trillions of won, given that improving inter-Korean relations remains a distant prospect and considering the recent landmine explosion accidents in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
