Are there not many people moving from SMEs to large corporations?

‌I hear that many people are moving to large corporations as experienced hires these days.
However, when looking at those joining large corporate finance, HR, management support, or marketing teams,
I've heard that there aren't actually that many people who built their careers
in the finance or HR departments of SMEs before joining.
What are your thoughts on this?
