The Fair Trade Commission has imposed a fine of approximately 20 billion won on Samsung Electronics for exaggerating smartphone gaming performance and intentionally limiting device speeds.
The FTC announced on the 27th that it has decided to impose a fine of about 20 billion won along with a corrective order for unfair advertising practices against Samsung Electronics.
This marks the first time in about eight years since the 2018 air purifier exaggerated advertising case that Samsung Electronics has faced sanctions from the FTC for unfair advertising.
