The mindset of parents sending their children to baseball training centers

It is not just about simply improving their skills.
If the coaches at the training center have high name value, wouldn't there also be an expectation of being picked up in the draft through their connections with people in the field?
Parents feel an anxiety or a sense of regret as if they would be missing out if they don't send them to these training centers...
I recall there were similar types of programs for getting jobs in the financial sector..
