Are people not considered elderly in their 60s these days?

‌In the 90s and early 2000s,
there was a strong perception that being in your 60s meant you were elderly,
but nowadays, people in their 60s just feel like middle-aged men and women
(especially those born in the 60s).
Is the social atmosphere such that 60-year-olds are no longer viewed as elderly?
