I think Messi's announcement to retire from the Argentina national team is even more incredible

An outstanding performance with 8 goals and 4 assists in 8 matches during the World Cup in North/Central America
He delivered a very impressive performance, ranking in the Top 3 among all players
Even if he announces his retirement and says he won't play in the next World Cup
There will be almost no Argentine citizens criticizing an aging Messi
Most treat him as a national hero who surpassed Maradona
And yet, he is stepping down from that heroic position to retire...
To be honest, even though he could continue playing with an eye on the next World Cup
