Why do parents in our country make their children study arts so much?

It feels like parents in our country, in particular, make their children study arts a lot.
There are many kids who are actually good at it, too.
I've noticed there are so many Koreans at places like Juilliard... especially in string instruments.
The arts field is a place where the return on investment is absolutely terrible, so I don't understand why they make them do it so much.
It seems especially high compared to other countries.
