[North Pole] Review of the movie "Assassins"
A controversial movie? I just watched "Assassins"
First of all, the movie itself was well-made and immersive,
and it was quite fun seeing the cameo appearances by various actors.
Even though it's over two hours long, the time flew by.
Plausible conspiracy theories are inherently entertaining.
The movie itself faithfully follows the perspective of the conspiracy theory.
Viewers might find it very convincing just by watching the film,
but the actual facts are quite different, so please don't be misled.
If we followed North Korea's claims regarding the Cheonan sinking, it would mean it was a staged event by our own country lol.
For the sake of entertainment, the movie focuses on one side of the story and contains almost no opposing views.
To see the opposing facts, everything regarding Moon Seok-kwang is available in the National Archives, along with court rulings that anyone can access. There are also many points that debunk Lee Dong-woo's claims.
There is a reason why conspiracy theories must remain just that lol.
Even Lee Dong-jin stated in his review that as a film and a dramatization, it went too far in certain aspects.
That said, I don't think it reaches the level of "The Truth of the Cheonan" or "The Truth of Itaewon"?
It's fun, the acting is good, and it's a well-made film. It deserves a 3 or 3.5 star rating.
However, if you have a strong aversion to political bias or historical distortion, I recommend not watching it.
Personally, I don't care much about narrative probability, so I enjoyed it quite well.
