I saw someone on Threads who became paralyzed due to an accident

I've seen cases on YouTube where people became paralyzed from extreme sports,
but I heard this person ended up that way because they were hit by a car from behind..
It suddenly makes me wonder what life is all about... and I can't even imagine how painful that life must be..
They say even their family can't see them... It's just so sad..
