What is the definition of "Korean BBQ" according to foreigners?

‌It doesn't seem to just refer to Samgyeopsal, and since Koreans eat beef or pork whenever they go to a meat restaurant anyway, the way it's eaten or grilled varies from shop to shop. I'm curious about what exactly "Korean BBQ" means to foreigners... Is it just any grilled meat eaten in Korea? People eat steak in America and Yakiniku in Japan...
