An acquaintance saw some clueless middle schoolers today

Some middle school boys were jaywalking in front of the terminal even though the pedestrian light was red;;;;
There were about 5 or 6 of them, and they were all dressed in tight shirts like Under Armour on top and wide 7-quarter pants on the bottom, acting all cocky and confidently jaywalking despite the red light.
At that moment, a city bus was driving through because the traffic light was green and the pedestrian light was red, but the driver had to slam on the brakes because the kids suddenly appeared.
Those clueless middle schoolers almost met their end, but the bus driver hit the brakes just in time to stop by a hair's breadth.
When I heard the story, I naturally assumed they would apologize.
But... the reaction of those middle schoolers afterward was truly beyond imagination.
They flipped the driver off, glared at him, and started swearing like crazy, saying things like "F*ck, you crazy piece of sh*t, I almost died," and then just crossed the street as if nothing had happened.
Just hearing the story makes me incredibly angry from a driver's perspective.
I am truly worried about the future of our country.
