Does Pizza School's Gorgonzola Pizza actually use tomato sauce?
Last weekend, my picky son, who just finished his midterm exams, said he wanted to eat pizza, so I ordered Gorgonzola pizza from "Western Pancake School" (Western Pizza School).
Because he loves pizza but absolutely hates tomatoes and tomato sauce, Gorgonzola is the only kind he eats, so we order it every single time..
Since this shop opened, we've ordered from them once or twice a month for several years, so we must have eaten there dozens of times... I used to call in takeout orders every time, but because it was a hassle to talk on the phone, I recently started using the app for takeout... and not once has there ever been tomato sauce applied.
On this day, I placed a takeout order for Gorgonzola via the delivery app, picked it up, and gave it to my son, but he was horrified.
He asked if I hadn't ordered Gorgonzola pizza... and why there was tomato sauce on it..
There really was tomato sauce spread on the Gorgonzola... Since it's a regular place, I thought the owner must have made a mistake... I ate the original one myself and ordered another one..
Feeling anxious, I rushed over immediately after ordering to tell the owner not to put tomato sauce on it in case they made another mistake, but I was a step too late; they were already spreading the tomato sauce and putting it into the wood-fired oven... (I live right next door)
So when I asked why they were putting tomato sauce on a Gorgonzola pizza, they said they ran out of the white sauce used for Gorgonzola, so they used tomato sauce instead...
Then they got annoyed, saying that if I didn't want tomato sauce, I should have requested it in advance through the app, and asked why I was telling them now...
Gorgonzola pizza itself doesn't have tomato sauce, so what was I supposed to request??
The owner's wife apologized and said she would remake it without the tomato sauce, but the owner snapped at her, saying it wouldn't work because the cheese would slide off if they didn't use sauce..
I told them not to bother remaking it since it was gross and just to give it to me, but the wife kept glancing at the owner nervously while apologizing and saying she would remake it without the tomato sauce... while the owner kept getting angry..
The wife eventually made it without the sauce, but..
Even if we let the first one slide as a mistake, the second one was intentional and wrong, yet they were getting angry and annoyed at a paying customer...
Even though I smiled and said "thank you" because we are regulars, they didn't even look at me, didn't respond, and just brushed me off saying they were annoyed..
They didn't offer a refund, I paid for both pizzas, and instead of being apologetic for making it wrong, they just got angry and annoyed at a customer who reordered and specifically asked not to have tomato sauce... is this right?
This is the absolute truth, without adding or subtracting a single thing.
※ If you look at the photo, you can see the red sauce clearly once the cheese in the middle is moved. I ate the rest of one to check what my son was so horrified by, and my wife ate one slice to confirm.
My wife is usually very easygoing and would let things slide, but when I told her this story, she got angry and told me to go leave a bad rating... Honestly, I'm so angry that I'm wondering if I really should go and leave a bad rating.
