Question regarding wall-mounted TV

I am currently using a wall-mounted TV..
I purchased a screen protector for the TV, but
the Genie set-top box is attached too closely, so there is no space.
I want to move the set-top box lower.
The problem is.. even if I try to unscrew the set-top box, there is so little space behind the TV that I can't even get my hands in there.. Is there a way to pull the TV further forward? I would like to hear some opinions from the experts.
I'm curious how the person who installed it managed to do it..
