Hasn't the criticism regarding the excessive number of marathons been going on for a long time?

‌I've seen people complaining more than once or twice about how they constantly hold marathon races within Seoul and block the roads.
Fortunately, living in Busan, I haven't seen marathons being held as frequently or seriously.
I do feel like there has been a sense that too many marathons have been overproduced.
Marathons shouldn't be held lightly, as they are prone to medical issues and road control problems.
