The Paju Cafe Cold Storage Murder Case: Killed over 50 billion won in counterfeit gift certificates

The suspect manufactured 50 billion won worth of counterfeit department store gift certificates
and stored them in the cold storage of the cafe he operates.
He contacted a broker to distribute the gift certificates,
and the broker requested to inspect the authenticity of the certificates in person.
The suspect requested that "verification is possible, but it would be better if it were a woman,"
so the broker sent a female acquaintance in her 60s (a non-expert who knew nothing about gift certificates).
While inspecting the gift certificates in the cold storage, the woman was confined and died.
Experts believe that the counterfeit nature of the certificates was discovered through this process,
and it is suspected that she was locked in the cold storage and killed to silence her.
Furthermore, it is suspected that the suspect did not plan this alone,
but that it was a collective operation by a criminal organization, with the suspect acting as a distributor.
