In our country, there is almost nothing that money cannot do.
Because people know this, they believe that making a lot of money is the ultimate goal, and money is effectively everything.
I personally suspect this might be because the Korean economy developed too rapidly from the ruins following the Korean War, and our collective sentiment couldn't keep pace with that speed.
