Summary of Likely Top Brackets for Asian Games Table Tennis

No translation in your language yet — showing the English version

‌We are currently around the Round of 32, and this is the bracket if the Quarterfinals (or Round of 16) are decided according to the favorites.

In Women's Singles, they generally don't meet very significant opponents until the Round of 16. The most major match would be naturalized player Joo Cheon-hui meeting Lim Ji-an (Singapore) in the Round of 16.
However, the difficulty spikes suddenly in the Quarterfinals as they face China. In the drawn bracket, both ended up facing China... Of course, meeting Japan doesn't guarantee a win either, but the Quarterfinals seem to be the final hurdle.

In Men's Singles, An Jae-hyun will likely face the 3rd seed Lin Yun-ju (Taiwan), who seems somewhat manageable.
For reference, the projected Round of 16 matchups are: Jang Woo-jin vs. Taiwan's Feng Yixin, and An Jae-hyun vs. North Korea's Ri Jong-sik in the Round of 32, followed by Hong Kong's Baldwin Chan in the Round of 16. While they aren't easy opponents, the Korean players are still the favorites to win.

For Mixed Doubles, the quarterfinals have already been determined through the preliminary rounds. Korea is likely to face Taiwan, then China, then China again. Since they have beaten the Lin Shidong-Kuai Man pair before, a challenge for the finals is well within reach. This is Korea's flagship event and the 1st seed in this tournament. (Of course, they aren't necessarily superior in skill to the 2nd seed... it's just that Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha haven't played many matches)

In Men's Doubles, seeding is almost meaningless... Regarding the 2nd seed Takar/Sha, the new Japanese pair of Harimoto/Shinozuka seems quite likely to win.
Oh Jun-sung and Lim Jong-hoon face manageable opponents in the Round of 32 and 16, but after the Quarterfinals, they will face Japan and China consecutively. Jang Woo-jin will pair with Park Gyu-hyeon and face North Korea in the Round of 32, followed by the Chinese pair Yuan Ruibo/Xiang Feng in the Round of 16.
Since there is very little gap in power in Men's Doubles, I am hoping for an upset.

Both Korean doubles pairs are expected to reach the Round of 16. The Shin Yu-bin/Joo Cheon-hui pair has an easy path up to the Semifinals, while the other team, Kim Na-young/Lee Eun-hye, will meet the Doo Hoi-kem/Ng On-lam pair in the Round of 16. If they can beat Hong Kong, they have a good chance of reaching the Semifinals. It looks like both are favorites to take bronze medals.
