Tucson: 1980 (For reference, the Carnival is 1995)
Avante XD: 1725
Every time a new car is released, the width increases insanely, making it impossible to get out of the car when parked next to a new model in a parking lot.
Then why not just expand the parking lots? It's possible for new buildings, but most older buildings simply cannot handle this.
What's surprising is that the Avante XD from 25 years ago, with a width of 1725, was a size where four adult men could sit without any discomfort.
The average height hasn't changed by more than 1cm between then and now.
It is a crazy situation where the Tucson, which started as a compact SUV, has become as wide as a Carnival.
You all know how hard it is to get out of a car when a Carnival is parked next to it, right?
Cars must be made at least 10cm narrower than they are now. In a country where the average height is 174cm and weight is 68kg, that would be more than enough.
