I also have a question about the Wuxia worldview

Where exactly does the income come from in a Wuxia worldview?
There are so many people, and they have to feed them.
It seems like the only productive activity is the security/escort system,
since they don't engage in farming or commercial activities.
The only physical activity is martial arts training.
And
especially that Demonic Cult—it doesn't seem like they could engage in normal economic activities,
but surely people wouldn't hire the Demonic Cult for security, right?
