Child Abuse Lawsuit

No translation in your language yet — showing the English version

I was sued for child abuse for a ridiculous reason.
A lawyer consultation costs 100,000 KRW for 30 minutes.
While waiting, they made me look through a casebook of child abuse incidents.
There are truly an overwhelming number of cases where people are sued for all sorts of nonsense.
The lawyer said that unless there is clear CCTV footage,
unless both sides have clear evidence,
the child's statement serves as powerful evidence.
Retaining a law firm starts at a minimum of 6.6 million KRW.
Unless there is direct physical violence,
most cases are assigned to the Family Court as child abuse protection cases,
resulting in an order to complete about 40 hours of education.
Completing the education is a relief? My foot.
Once the date and location are set, you must attend that place no matter what
for 8 hours a day for 5 days.
If you don't show up, you will face criminal punishment.
This is the stage where your company finds out.
There is no such thing as "I couldn't make it due to circumstances."
If you don't attend, the Family Court's protective disposition will be canceled,
and the case will be sent back to the prosecution to proceed as a criminal trial.
I've seen many truly infuriating cases,
but the worst one was
when a 3rd-grade boy intentionally urinated on the floor of a building restroom.
The building manager saw this and said, "Hey, you little brat, what do you think you're doing? Are you going to clean this up?"
The child was then sued for child abuse on the grounds of swearing and threatening the child,
with the claim that the child is currently undergoing psychiatric treatment.
What drives me absolutely insane is
the day after I received a text saying the documents were transferred to the prosecution after the police investigation,
I got a call from the District Office's Child Welfare Team.
They said that after reviewing the police report, this indeed constitutes child abuse.
Therefore, they told me to go to a location they designate to receive education and counseling.
When I asked, "Are you prosecutors? Are you judges?
The prosecutor probably hasn't even seen the police report yet, so by what legal standard are you judging me as an abuser?"
The district official replied, "That's what the law says."
No matter how much kids provoke you, just pretend you didn't see it.
Do not let a sense of justice lead you to volunteer for social punishment.
Hitting is not the only form of violence.
The scope of legal violence is much wider and deeper than we imagine.
