On the 30th, a plenary meeting of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee was held in the absence of the Democratic Party of Korea, Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, and Unification Minister Chung Dong-young.
The opposition parties focused their criticism on the government's response regarding the DMZ landmine explosion accident and the issue of repatriating North Korean prisoners.
Amidst this, independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon argued that the government must respond more decisively to North Korea, stating, "The one held hostage by the weakness of remittances to North Korea is President Lee Jae-myung personally, not the Republic of Korea."
He continued his criticism, asking, "Is the primary enemy of the Lee Jae-myung administration North Korea or Ukraine?" and adding, "They cannot say a word to North Korea but are only growling at Ukraine."
