Question regarding the disadvantages of Tesla
Since I am the type of person who procrastinates until everyone else has reaped all the benefits and only the leftovers remain, the fact that I am even looking into this means it must be the very end of the hype cycle, haha.
Anyway, after test-driving various models, experiencing the autonomous driving, and comparing specs, Tesla seems so overwhelmingly superior that it feels like there is no need to even worry. This actually makes me feel uneasy. People say the ride quality is a disadvantage, but I didn't feel it at all. Perhaps it's because my current car is quite old.
- In my area, non-Tesla competing vehicles are selling quite well; I wonder what factors those people are looking at when making their choice. Aside from price and exterior design, are there other elements? For example, the EV5 is priced similarly and sells quite well, though there is a difference in sales volume.
- I heard that autonomous driving is subscription-based (charging around 150,000 KRW) and that if you don't subscribe and only use the basic features, the driving convenience is lower compared to other EVs. Is this true, and if so, what does that mean specifically? I have only driven old, base-model gasoline cars, so I know nothing about driving assistance systems.
- Based on the Model Y, are there any other "trap" elements or hidden downsides?
I know AI can answer this and it's a common topic in my local community, but I really want to hear the opinions of actual users here.
