It feels like wheat always wins in the wheat vs. rice debate

Korea, China, and Japan all eat pasta, ramen, pizza, hamburgers, and sandwiches made from wheat flour.
But if you look at how much rice the Western world consumes,
purely in terms of taste, rice can't compete with wheat.
Because of the ability to grind it into flour and shape it into any form desired,
rice simply can't hold a candle to it.
In fact, global grain consumption for wheat is higher than for rice,
and wheat consumption in Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia >>>>>>> rice consumption in France, Germany, and Italy.
While wheat-based foods have become luxury items in rice-centric cultures,
it feels like rice-based foods are only eaten very occasionally in wheat-centric cultures.
