Jin Seong-jun was framed incorrectly yesterday regarding the landmine issue

No translation in your language yet — showing the English version

Yesterday, when posts suddenly started appearing about whether landmines are for lethal use or hobby use,
I thought, 'Of course landmines are for lethal use, what are they talking about?'
I understand what Jin Seong-jun was trying to say, but he messed up.
It is true that landmines, Claymores, mortars, and the K9 are all lethal weapons.
However, even among the same lethal weapons, there are offensive weapons and weapons intended for defensive purposes.
That is why different weapons are needed depending on the strategy or tactics.
That is what the new Defense Minister meant when saying it seems like 'North Korea is trying to fortify the DMZ.'
France's Maginot Line wasn't built to invade Germany,
and I think that is what Jin Seong-jun was referring to, but it's not something to say to the media when our military was the one that suffered.
The headline is also tricky; Jin Seong-jun meant it is still difficult to determine the specific purpose behind why they intended to cause injury,
but the headline was framed as if it's uncertain whether causing injury was the objective or not.
