Korean-Americans used to snub people from Korea

No translation in your language yet — showing the English version

I experienced this myself, but I saw a child who looked unmistakably Korean standing with White and Black friends at what I think was Disneyland in Anaheim.
The child seemed to be intentionally looking away with a sour expression.
It was so obvious that even my colleagues were making comments about it....
But now, when you look at the Billboard charts, someone like BLACKPINK's Jennie hits number 5,
and a US-based girl group created by Bang Si-hyuk enters the top 20.
Back in the day, hearing about the Backstreet Boys' Billboard exploits felt like hearing about a trip to Mars,
but now K-pop enters the Hot 100 as easily as drinking water.
I also happened to see a Korean-American actor or influencer
on Fox or CBS or something, making a huge fuss about cooking Korean food.
Making bibimbap with various vegetables and gochujang,
anyway, it's a complete transformation of the landscape.
Even Steven (referring to a celebrity) is all about cooking Korean food these days.
Back when T-boy (referring to a specific figure) caused the military service controversy in 2002, the image of Korea in the West or Japan
was similar to the current image of Vietnam or Southeast Asia,
but now we have become a major cultural powerhouse that has effectively taken over Billboard.
I went to Disneyland in Anaheim around 2003 or 2004,
and I wonder how the attitude of Korean-Americans would be if I went back there now.
