The real danger of Korean cuisine is that it contains too much sugar.

It tastes somewhat mild, but even at this level, it already contains a shocking amount of sugar.
As those who have tried adding syrup to an Iced Americano know, you can't achieve that "sweet Americano" flavor we all know unless you add a significant amount.
For a serving of 1–2 people, you need about 4 to 5 heaping spoonfuls of sugar to mask the bitterness, saltiness, and spiciness, allowing that thick umami flavor to explode.
In particular, the "sweet and salty" combination complements each other, making the dish both incredibly salty and incredibly sweet.
