A former high-ranking official of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) admitted on the 6th (local time) that he used his position to embezzle government funds to acquire tens of millions of dollars worth of real estate and hundreds of gold bars.
According to U.S. CBS News and the UK's Guardian, David J. Rush (49), a former high-ranking CIA official, pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges in a Virginia court on this day.
According to prosecutors, Rush is accused of creating fake secret operations to embezzle government funds through shell companies to purchase four luxury properties in Palm Beach and Jupiter, Florida, and manipulating other sensitive government activities to acquire hundreds of gold bars.
