For those with infants/toddlers, what did you do about floor mats?

Should I buy a decent folding mat on Karrot (second-hand) and lay it in the living room,
or should I just buy a new one? (It's hard to check for discoloration or the actual condition when buying second-hand)
Or should I just go with installed mats (TPU mats) from the start...
It seems like more people are skipping the installed mats than I thought..
(The price is beyond imagination... it's easily 2-3 million won as a baseline..)
What did everyone else do?
I'm thinking maybe just putting some down in the living room would be enough..
