I feel like our country has a really strong "let's not all live well together" mindset

What I feel when traveling abroad
When people use the logic that "if there are so many people traveling abroad, how can there be an economic recession?"
It feels like they are trying too hard to apply their own standards
Like, "High-income people can go or not, it doesn't matter, but you shouldn't go traveling either!" It's so obvious.
