I'm watching "New Recruit 4" since I heard it's finished, but there are many disappointing parts

I've watched up to the Marine Corps and the Hoguk Training Opposing Force episodes,
but the screen time for the protagonist Park Min-seok's squad (1st Class) is way too low.
To be honest, I started watching the drama because I like Jangbbijju's "New Recruit,"
but even though they brought him back as Sergeant Choi Il-gu, his presence is less than Oh Seok-jin's.
And Kim Sang-hoon and Im Da-hye seem to appear even less than the administrative clerks Jo Jin-se and Seong Yun-mo.
In particular, regarding the conflict between Corporal Park Min-seok and Private Kim Hyun-wook within the 1st Class squad,
the squad leader Sergeant Kim Sang-hoon and senior Corporal Im Da-hye don't offer any help;
instead, it's the 3rd Class members, Corporal Kim Dong-woo and Private Jeon Se-gye, who step in to help resolve it.
Speaking of the 3rd Class, it feels like the 3rd Class has become the main protagonists.
There isn't an episode where Kang Chan-seok and Choi Byeong-nam don't appear, though they'll be discharged soon.
Even the smoking cessation campaign only features the 3rd Class, only the 3rd Class gets reward leave, and only the 3rd Class gets into arguments with high schoolers.
As a fan of the original work, I find myself rooting for the 1st Class more than the 3rd Class.
It's a shame.
