Early days of 1899 (Sold in jars and glass bottles): In the beginning, there were no paper boxes. Caramels were separated individually and kept in ceramic jars or glass bottles, sold by weight (grams) or by piece whenever a customer visited.
The 1914 Transformation (Completion of the current design): To solve the problem of caramels melting and sticking together due to summer temperatures and humidity, they began wrapping each piece in paraffin paper like a pill and selling them in yellow (ochre) rectangular paper boxes. This 1914 packaging is the prototype of the yellow box design that continues to this day.
