Question about how to handle criticism regarding YouTube thumbnails

When producing YouTube content, there are times when you get criticized for your thumbnails, right?
I know this basically depends on the situation, but generally speaking, I'm curious:
1. You're going to get criticized even if you change it, so it's better to just leave it as is and not back down.
2. If you don't change it, you'll get even more criticism, so it's better to change it first.
