‌If the '96-born players were claiming this as captain
because they were truly worried about Korean football
and felt Son Heung-min couldn't handle it...
Then they should have either fought tooth and nail with Son Heung-min if it wasn't working,
or run themselves to death even harder,
or even taken over the captaincy duties for him,
or shown even more active dedication to the national team...
But acting like "I won't do it if we don't do it this way" as if great people are leaving
just makes me think they are simply making excuses to avoid responsibility
or to avoid being criticized.
If all the various rumors being discussed are actually true,
then Son Heung-min might have his own issues...
But the side saying they will step down by bringing up retirement like this
seems to be the bigger problem.
