Zhuge Liang's military achievements are eclipsed by Murong Xiaozong.

‌Zhuge Liang's military achievements are eclipsed by Murong Xiaozong.
He was a general active during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, following the Three Kingdoms period.
This was a time when the Northern Dynasties were split into East and West, opening up a new era of three kingdoms.
At that time, Gao Huan of Eastern Wei occupied a position similar to a usurper like Cao Cao;
He died of frustration while attacking Yuwen Tai of Western Wei, during the period when Gao Jing (the equivalent of Cao Pi) had just inherited the throne.

Hou Jing, a military commander within Eastern Wei, promised to hand over the Central Plains where he held influence,
and proposed to take over Eastern Wei by conspiring with Western Wei's Yuwen Tai and the southern Liang Dynasty, requesting troops from both sides.
The Eastern Wei of this new Three Kingdoms era faced a desperate crisis, suffering from a triple offensive of internal rebellion + Western Wei + Liang Dynasty.
However, Murong Xiaozong, who was appointed as a military commander following Gao Huan's legacy, went out,
defeated the armies from all three directions in succession, and defended Eastern Wei.
Hou Jing fled to the Liang Dynasty from there and proceeded to ruin them from within...
While the Liang Dynasty was engulfed in Hou Jing's rebellion, Yuwen Tai of Western Wei sent Yuwen Hu to attack Shu,
eventually establishing the Northern Zhou, which later unified the three kingdoms through the Sui Dynasty.
Eastern Wei was able to preserve its state thanks to Murong Xiaozong suppressing all three attacking armies.
The last remnants of the Western Wei army that had advanced toward Eastern Wei were in the Yingchuan region;
their leader met his end by drowning while commanding the suppression of Yingchuan via waterways.
He died after repelling all three-way attacks, with only one castle remaining.
Even without having to call upon legendary generals like Han Xin, Huo Qubing, or Emperor Guangwu (Liu Xiu) who turned the impossible into reality...
Chinese history is overflowing with generals who achieved great military feats.
Even considering the entire era of the Five Barbarians, Sixteen Kingdoms, and Northern and Southern Dynasties,
Murong Xiaozong should be ranked within the top 10 generals.
When generals of that caliber appear, it is difficult to even compare them to Zhuge Liang's military achievements.
Most people who overrate Zhuge Liang's military talent
are actually those who are largely unaware of the existence of generals from other eras like Murong Xiaozong.
