An acquaintance of mine had a house that was being rented out via Jeonse, and last year there was a leak that the upstairs neighbor repaired.
However, the leak recurred early this year, causing some mold to grow. Because of this, the tenant claimed moving expenses and real estate agent fees (and subsequently moved out), so my acquaintance paid those costs.
A while ago, they sent a certification of contents to the upstairs owner regarding this issue, which eventually led to a small claims lawsuit (claiming 5 million KRW for moving expenses + alimony). My acquaintance used Gemini and ChatGPT to draft the complaint and documents, while it seems the upstairs neighbor had a lawyer respond through their insurance company.
However, last week, they won a partial judgment regarding the damages claimed.
What surprised me during this process is the fact that even someone who knows nothing about the law can respond to a certain extent without a lawyer by using AI. It is quite amazing. AI... wow.
