I wish people wouldn't make political remarks during acceptance speeches at film festivals or award ceremonies...

‌They really contribute to killing the mood. What are they trying to achieve by acting like some kind of enlightened social activists?
If a movie or drama does well and they win an award, they should just thank the people they are grateful to, like colleagues and staff, and then step down.
But there are always those people who have to say one thing or another—take Park Chan-wook or Moon So-ri, for example...
I really wonder why they do that. Even Park Chan-wook, at the Baeksang Arts Awards, went out of his way to say things like people need to vote better, like, why bother?
And if I remember correctly, Moon So-ri suddenly made a political remark at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, which made the atmosphere really awkward.
I see this as a type of "Hollywood disease."
There are always those people at the Academy Awards and such who spout nonsense about having a "social voice" or whatever.
