Former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was indicted on charges of receiving public opinion polls free of charge from political broker Myung Tae-kyun, has been found not guilty in the appellate court, overturning the guilty verdict from the first trial.

Previously, the first-instance court found him guilty, ruling that 14 out of 58 polls were conducted based on a tacit agreement between former President Yoon's couple and Mr. Myung.
However, the appellate court reached a different conclusion. The court ruled that it is difficult to conclude that the former President's couple commissioned the polls from Mr. Myung, or that there was a meeting of minds, such as a tacit agreement regarding free provision, between the two parties.
