I feel so sorry for the players because of the incompetent Basketball Association.
Even in Japan, they have so many naturalized players and are actively pursuing policies for mixed-race players, so their big men and swingmen are all physically powerful with incredible depth.
They entered the Basketball World Cup with pride and are competing against other nations.
On the other hand, it's not like we can just leave it like China and pour money in to get tall big men over 210cm,
nor is the KBL overflowing with swingman shooters with the physique of center Kim Jong-kyu.
The Korea Basketball Association has no money, is incompetent, and still acts like they want to be called "master" at all costs.
They are so afraid of losing their small rice bowls that they can't even increase the number of naturalized or mixed-race players,
still clinging to the pride of the "prodigy generation" from the old days.
Even though the top-tier players, including Lee Hyun-jung, gathered for the Asian Games, we only have the veteran Jang Jae-seok, who is only 205cm, and Lee Seung-hyun, who is far too short, as our big men.
Because of this, Lee Hyun-jung, who should be shooting and attacking, has to work his ass off helping in the paint,
and Yeo Jun-seok has to face opposing big men in the 210cm range, forcing us into extreme three-point basketball while leaving the paint wide open.
Even when the whole team runs like dogs to make up for it, the player pool is so thin that they can't even manage them properly.
I wish every association in this country, except for archery, would just go to hell.
"Players, please do it for us~~~!!!" How long is this going to last? I can never bring myself to criticize the players.
I only feel sorry for them. They hired a foreign coach just to act like they're doing something and claim their job is done????
Still, thanks to the foreign coach and the players twisting their bodies to the limit, they are managing to perform
and making people call them the "Golden Generation," so I am just grateful.
