3 military officers injured in explosion during DMZ search operation; suspected landmine accident
[Breaking News] 3 military officers injured in explosion during DMZ search operation... suspected landmine accidentn.news.naver.comIt has been confirmed that on the 21st, three soldiers were injured in an accident presumed to be a landmine explosion during a search operation in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) at a frontline unit of the Army's 25th Division, which oversees the western front. The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) stated on this day, "This morning (21st), three officers performing operations at a point south of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) in the DMZ were injured by an unidentified explosion.
The JCS reported that two officers were urgently evacuated via emergency helicopter, and one is scheduled to be transported by land before being evacuated by helicopter.
Military authorities are closely monitoring the possibility that the accident was caused by a landmine explosion. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the mine was planted by North Korean forces or by our own military.
Since the Kim Jong-un regime defined inter-Korean relations as 'hostile two states,' North Korean forces have been carrying out so-called 'borderline fortification' work in the DMZ area north of the MDL, including planting landmines, installing fences, and creating wasteland.
