Police and firefighters are both tough, but I just much prefer firefighters

‌
The police are overrated due to the prestige of public authority, but their work-life balance is overwhelmingly worse than firefighters.
Firefighters are just incomparably better.
Unless you are in EMS, if you are in general firefighting or rescue, once you hit your 6th year, you are basically a high-earning Sergeant Major or Master Sergeant. While the job is perceived as a very noble profession, in reality, you can think of it as being similar to a Sergeant Major or Master Sergeant.
You spend your days making coffee, playing mobile games, playing foot volleyball, and then heading home.
Police officers might only get about 2 hours of sleep at night, but firefighters are almost guaranteed a full 7 hours of sleep.
